Camping With The Sisters

During Camp NaNo, and I know it will extend well beyond, I feel the same thrill of climbing that mountain again. There are dangers along the trail, most certainly, and there will be stumbles and pitfalls. But wonders appear at every turn of the path. The pinnacle is in reach, a story complete, and I can see it shining above the clouds.

“Serendipity.” It’s one of (if not the number one) my favorite words. I just love the way it sounds, so bouncy and fun, but I especially love when it lands in front of me, laughing and reaching out to let me know that “someone out there” really does hear our hearts.

Exploring the Story

Writing, for me, is often like an archaeological dig. I start out delving into what I think will be, and find new discoveries along the way that change my whole perspective, teach me about the people involved, and rewrite the world’s history. I enjoy getting to know my world and its characters as much as I enjoy letting them tell me where they want to go, and how they want to get there.

My Annual Read: A Christmas Carol

If you have yet to read Scrooge’s story in the original … please do. It is an experience that everyone needs to enjoy, if only so they can watch the next movie version and say, “That’s not how it happened in the book!”

Writer’s Flood

My big problem isn’t writer’s block. It’s writer’s flood. I have so many story ideas floating about that sometimes I feel like I’m drowning. I’m not a great one at making decisions (my astrologer friends would say that’s because I have Libra rising), but I am pretty good at coming up with interesting story ideas.
